The Curiosity Cloche
One of my favorite pieces to create is the Curiosity Cloche. A beautiful collection of dried blooms and foliage enclosed in a glass dome. Each cloche begins with a color palette in mind and the little floral world grows from there. I hand carve each mound, then cover in preserved moss, and last arrange the beautiful blooms.
The blooms come from my garden or local farmers markets, and then are dried in my studio. I love to experiment to see which blooms dry, how to hold the color best, and how each stage of the flower’s life dries. Every Curiosity Cloche is unique, no two alike, just like the beauty of nature and flowers. The wood base cloches are a staple and when I am able to, I create antique curiosity cloches. The antique cloches are hard to come by with the glass and base together, but I love when I can find one. Head over to the shop page to find your favorite!
