Bringing in the Greenery

I am constantly inspired by nature and love to bring it inside when I can. A room with plants adds a cozy touch and calming vibe, don’t you think?

This past weekend I visited one of my favorite plant nursery’s and greenhouse, Morris County Farms. I gather so much inspiration and always find a plant or two. My houseplant collection has grown over the years with cacti being center stage, but lately I have been adding in more leafy greens. Of course I have a few ferns! I thought I’d share how I add plants as décor and a few stills from the greenhouse.

A few ideas on where to place plants

  • tucked on a bookshelf, pothos are great since they trail down.

  • perched atop a stack of books on your entry way.

  • a show stopper centerpiece; use an antique crock as a pot!

  • add a shelf below a window and make a designated plant area.

  • use a vintage basket and place the potted plant inside. you can add a saucer at the bottom to protect the basket.

  • anywhere you feel a little greenery is needed!

If house plants are new to you start with some easy plants and make sure you have the right amount of light needed. Pothos, philodendrons, cacti, monstera, are great starter plants.

Do you have houseplants? If so how do you add them into your cozy home?
